Thanks for taking the time to learn about our history. I started working in construction in 1973 when I was 16 years old, learning from both my dad and also my uncle, Bud Roth. My dad worked for Knight Construction Company, where he was the foreman of Harley Knight's crews for 13 years. My uncle worked for Knight Construction for a while, but decided to start his own pole building company in 1969: "Northwest Pole Buildings." I graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1975, worked for a year for my uncle, then enrolled at Clark College from 1977-1978 earning a Certification in Automotive Technology. That same year I met my wife Dorothy. We married in 1979, and began our family in 1981 with the arrival of our first child, Doug.

In 1983 my Uncle Bud (who had been retired nearly three years) let my brother, Dan Roth, and I restart "Northwest Pole Buildings" keeping his name. Dan and I had a partnership business together, with each of us as a foreman on our own crews. Our first daughter, Marcie was born in 1984 and then a second daughter, Kelly was born in 1987.

In 1997 my wife Dorothy and I decided it was time to venture out on our own and start our own business. We were contemplating what to call our new company when my Uncle Bud came to me and said we should name it “Premium Pole Buildings.” Sadly, Uncle Bud had a stroke and passed away a few days after this talk. To honor him and the experience he taught me, we used the name he chose. I'm very thankful to my family for teaching me to treat everyone with respect and to take pride in my work.

Today, "Premium Pole Buildings" custom builds pole structures of all types and sizes.  As the foreman on every job, we install house roofs: new and remodel with the standing seam metal roofing.  We also remodel old shops and farm buildings: replacing framing, siding, and roofing as necessary.  We even do concrete flat work. With 39 years of construction experience, performing quality workmanship and using quality materials are extremely important to me, and my crew and I always do our best on every job. We are a small family business serving Clark County and the surrounding communities of Southwest Washington. We custom build and remodel to your specifications: no job is too small or too large, and we welcome the label of being diversified.

Thanks again for taking the time, and we look forward to serving you now and in the future.
